By accessing or using PDF Gain, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by any additional terms presented in the product or checkout flow. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you use PDF Gain on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and references to you include that organization.
Service Description
PDF Gain provides browser-based tools for uploading, parsing, editing, signing, protecting, saving, exporting, and managing PDF documents. Some features may be free, paid, limited by plan, or available only after account creation.
- Edit text, objects, shapes, annotations, and other PDF content where supported.
- Add signatures, manage pages, protect documents, and export processed PDFs.
- Store documents temporarily or permanently depending on your plan and account status.
- Use checkout, subscription, and account management features made available through PDF Gain and our providers.
We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the service when needed to improve the product, maintain security, comply with law, or operate the business.
User Accounts
Certain features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for activity that occurs under your account.
- Provide current, complete, and accurate registration and billing information.
- Keep your password and authentication methods secure.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access.
- Use PDF Gain only in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to misuse PDF Gain or help anyone else misuse the service.
- Do not upload, create, edit, or distribute unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Do not violate privacy, publicity, intellectual property, contractual, or other third-party rights.
- Do not attempt to access accounts, documents, systems, APIs, or data that you are not authorized to access.
- Do not interfere with, disrupt, overload, scrape, crawl, or reverse engineer the service except where allowed by law.
- Do not bypass plan limits, security controls, rate limits, payment flows, or document retention rules.
Violating this policy may result in feature limits, document removal, account suspension, account termination, or other appropriate action.
Intellectual Property Rights
PDF Gain, including its software, interface, branding, design, features, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of PDF Gain or our intellectual property.
You retain ownership of the documents and content you upload. By uploading or editing content through PDF Gain, you grant us a limited license to host, process, parse, render, display, save, transmit, and export that content solely as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.
Payment and Subscriptions
Some features require payment. Prices, plan features, storage limits, trial terms, renewal terms, and taxes are shown during checkout or in the product. Paddle or another payment provider may process payments and provide billing services.
- By starting a paid plan or trial, you authorize recurring charges according to the terms shown at checkout.
- You are responsible for keeping billing and payment information accurate and up to date.
- If a payment fails, we may limit, suspend, downgrade, or cancel paid features.
- You may cancel a subscription according to the cancellation tools or instructions available to you. Cancellation generally stops future renewals and does not automatically refund prior charges unless required by law or stated in a separate policy.
- Refunds are handled according to applicable law, checkout disclosures, and any refund policy or support decision that applies to your purchase.
Data Processing and Storage
PDF Gain processes and stores documents and related metadata to provide the editor, exports, account features, support, security, and plan enforcement. Our Privacy Policy explains our data practices in more detail.
Guest documents expire after 2 hours. Documents associated with an account are retained according to the plan and storage rules shown in the product or checkout. Expired, deleted, replaced, or unsupported documents may be removed from storage and processing caches.
Third-Party Services
PDF Gain relies on third-party services for hosting, authentication, storage, payments, analytics, and other operational needs. Your use of those parts of the service may be subject to the terms and privacy practices of those providers.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, integrations, or services that are not controlled by PDF Gain, even if they are linked from our website or product.
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
PDF Gain is provided on an as available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every document, or able to preserve every layout, font, field, annotation, signature, or PDF feature. You are responsible for reviewing exported documents before relying on or sharing them.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF Gain will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDF Gain, its operators, service providers, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Termination
You may stop using PDF Gain at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the service, accounts, documents, or features if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for PDF Gain or others, failed to pay required fees, or if continued access would create legal, security, or operational concerns.
After termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including intellectual property, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute provisions.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
Before starting a formal dispute, you agree to contact us and try to resolve the issue informally. Any dispute process will be handled in the courts of competent jurisdiction, unless a different process is required by applicable law.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the last updated date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice when appropriate.
Your continued use of PDF Gain after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the service.
Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable or invalid, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
